in the holiday spirit

Mark and I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for our sons Beau & Steve and Beau's girlfriend, Chelsea.  It was the first time we've cooked the big traditional meal in a few years.  It took all day, but we exchanged favorite memories of our childhood holidays and enjoyed recreating my grandmother's recipes once again for our family.  The meal turned out really good and I felt extremely thankful for all of my blessings. On Friday we traveled to Alexandria to visit my family and see my beautiful neice Raven for the first time in many years.  Saturday night we drove to Baltimore to visit Mark's family.  Upon returning home, a nagging cough turned into pneumonia and I am still recovering today.  Instead of cleaning, decorating, crafting, and working through my To Do list, I've been snuggled under the covers watching Christmas movies on The Hallmark Channel and TCM.

A few things I'm loving right now are:
Shabby Old St. Nick ribbon from Prarie Bird Boutique on Etsy
Baker's Twine in Red and White from Shabby Pea Designs on Etsy
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Santa Baby
Ranger Stickles in Icicle
Ali Edwards December Daily Album
Holiday Affair on TCM starring Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh (This is a good Christmas movie that is never mentioned in any of the lists, but I recommend you add it to your list of family holiday movies.

Hope you are having a great week,

xo Susi xo
